Histories

Most of what I know about Christian Buhr comes from his marriage record.  It says that he was born in 1831, in Oberbreisig, district Koblenz, to a farmer named Johann Buhr and his wife Anna Maria, nee Brust.  Anna Maria had already died at the time of the marriage, but Johann was there to witness it.

He was marrying a 26 year old named Anna Maria Kraemer.  She was born in Winterscheid, a district of Cologne, to Johann Kraemer and his wife, Anna Francisca Krey.  Anna Francisca had also passed away at the time of the marriage, but Johann was there to witness it. 

I don’t know the exact date of Anna Maria’s birth, but she was christened on June 1^st, 1837, in Ruppichteroth, Theinlant, Prussia.  Her last name is spelled Craemer in this record (available here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NVCG-QJD)

The marriage itself took place on October 31^st, 1863.
